The new mother’s handmade animal kingdom will change your heart with cuteness

Sabina Gibson, an Australian artist currently living in Toronto, recently had her own baby, and the new mother’s handicrafts are increasingly childlike.

“I am inspired by a photograph of a landscape, folklore, fashion trends, a special color or a rare material,” she says. Sabina has made animals of all sizes, from small to large; but most of them are about the size you can hold in your hand.


Sabina loves animals, especially bears and unicorns. “Bears are round and chubby, giving people a comfortable and sweet feeling,” she said, “unicorns are full of magic and have an irresistible appeal to people of all ages.”
